Mrs. Patricia Ann Deans Hughes

MRS. PATRICIA ANN DEANS HUGHES     

GRAHAM – Mrs. Patricia Ann Deans Hughes, 59, of 3517 Boy Wood Road, passed away on Friday, November 4, 2022 at her residence.

A native of Northampton County, she was the daughter of Mr. John Stanley Deans, and Mrs. Helen Louise Casterlow Deans, both deceased.  She was married to Lashoon Hughes, the love of her life.

Patricia attended Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church at an early age.  She later became a member of Greater Hope Cathedral in Greensboro under the leadership of Bishop Clarence Wall.  Patricia graduated from Northampton County East High School.  She graduated from North Carolina A&T State University with a degree in Administrative Services.  She loved NC A&T and was employed at the school for over thirty years until her retirement in 2020.  A special thanks to AuthoraCare employees, Kendra, Sharon, Joanne, Whitley, Lisa, Safari and Chaplain Gail.

In addition to her husband of the home, Patricia leaves behind to cherish her memories one brother, John Stanley Deans Jr. (Michelle); three sisters, Catherine C. Lane (William); Evelyn D. Deloatch (Michael); Donna K. Spruill (Wayne); four aunts, Mary Rock (Marcel); Elise Deans; Florence Deans; Nancy Casterlow; three In laws, Patrice Vinson (James); Luther Taylor; Evelyn Hughes; Godparents, Aria Jacobs; Grace Keemer; and a host of other family members and friends.

Patricia’s funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at 1:00pm Alamance Funeral Service Chapel with Reverend  Dr. Harvey L. Bigelow officiating and Bishop Clarence Wall delivering the eulogy.  Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery at 1:00 pm on Thursday, November 10, 2022.  The address to the cemetery is 128 Ahoskie-Cofield Road Ahoskie, NC 27910.

Patricia will lie in state one hour prior to her funeral service with the family arriving at 12:50 pm in the chapel and all other times at the home. 

Patricia’s public viewing will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022 from 1-7:00 pm at the funeral home.

Social distancing will be observed and a mask is required.
