MRS. EDNA EARLE REEVES SMITH
GREENSBORO – Mrs. Edna Earle Reeves Smith 87, of 906 E. Florida Street, passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 surrounded by her loving family at Moses Cone Hospital.
A native of Chatham County, she was the daughter of Mr. Joe Clarence Reeves and Mrs. Rosa Lee Clinton Reeves, both deceased, and three sisters, Bertha Watkins; Mable Reeves; and Carrie Parker; and one brother Thurman Reeves also deceased.
In addition to her parents and siblings, Edna was also preceded in death by her son, William “Billy” Brown; two daughters, Lynda Branch and Rose Marie Brown, a grandson; Ryan Siler and a great grand daughter; Christian Maxwell.
Edna leaves behind to cherish her memories two daughters, Reba Brown Siler (Robert) of Julian; Delores Faye Brown of Greensboro; seven grandchildren, Randy Graves; Keith Graves; Shaune Siler; Shimika Bowers; Telly Siler; Michelle Jackson; Natalie Siler; eight great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.
Edna’s homegoing celebration will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 11:30 am in the chapel of Hargett Funeral Home, with Pastor Thurman Highsmith delivering her eulogy. Interment will follow in Lakeview Memorial Park Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to her funeral service in the chapel and all other times at the home.
Edna’s public viewing will be held on Friday, September 23, 2022 at Hargett Funeral Home from 1-5:00 pm.
Social distancing will be observed and a mask is required.
