BURLINGTON-Mr. Robert “Bobby” Edwin Morgan, 87, of 422 Lincoln Street, passed away at Cone Health Wesley Long Hospital.
A native of Alamance County, Bobby was the son of Lucian and Helena Graves, both deceased, and the husband of Dorothy Elizabeth Morgan, also deceased. Also preceding Bobby in death is a daughter, Yetta Paris and a brother, Douglas Morgan.
Bobby was reared in Alamance County where he attended the Alamance County Schools. Although he had strong ties in Burlington, Bobby considered Connecticut his home, and he lived there for many years working and providing for his wife and family. He had a strong work ethic and was always gainfully employed. While in the workforce, he worked as a caddy on the golf course, he worked for Pepperidge Farms and he also worked as a custodian for the Norwalk Connecticut School System for over twenty-five years before he retired.
Bobby was always a devoted churchgoer. While living in Bridgeport Connecticut, he attended Calvary Seventh Day Adventist Church. After Bobby retired, he made the decision to return to Burlington with his wife and they immediately continued their spiritual journey with becoming faithful members of Philadelphia Seventh Day Adventist Church. By nature, Bobby was very humorous, which made him a joy to be around. He cherished spending time outside playing golf, and visiting family and friends. He was also very mindful of health and nutrition, thus always looking ageless.
Bobby will forever be remembered by his son, Michael E. Morgan of Trenton, NJ; two daughters, Sheletha “Cookie” Collins-Fortune (Darrell) of Philadelphia, PA and Sharon D. Morgan (Michael) of Winston-Salem; grandchildren, Tiffany James (Ralph), Chanika Martin, Kareem Martin, Rashan Martin, Shamari Martin, Simone Paris, Markus Paris, Kaliyma Morgan, Kyle Morgan, Olivia Hartley, Shacai O’Neal; great grandchildren, Christopher James, Justin James, Megan Martin; a loyal friend, Laverne “Bootsie” Bruce and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Bobby’s homegoing service will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at 1:00pm at Alamance Funeral Service with Pastor Michael Olaye of Philadelphia Seventh-Day Adventist Church officiating. Burial will follow in North Lawn Cemetery next to his wife.
The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to Bobby’s funeral service on Thursday from 12:30-1:00pm. His public viewing will be held on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at the funeral home from 3:00-7:00pm.
Social distancing and the wearing of a mask will be required.
