MR. DEVANTE LEQUON PETTRESS
GREENSBORO-Mr. DeVante LeQuon Pettress, 28, of 1500 Pichard Street, beloved father, brother, and friend passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2023.
A native of Guilford County he was the son of Mr. Dimeatrious Pettress of Greensboro and Ms. Floydricka Tanoh of Smithfield, both survive.
DeVante was also preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Floyd Blackwell; and his cousin LeAnn Pettress.
DeVante attended James B. Dudley High School as well as GTCC. He was known for his infectious laugh, constant jokes and caring heart. Since he was a very young man he had been interested in repairing, building, and creating things. He was very skilled. DeVante’s greatest joy was being a father.
In addition to his parents, Devante leaves precious memories to his two daughters, Londyn and Zarah Pettress both of Greensboro; two sisters, Tondra Flores (Jonathan) of Texas; Kiara Pettress of Greensboro with whom he shared a special bond with; one brother, Dominique Blackwell of Greensboro; paternal grandmother, Darlene Pettress (Cebron) of Greensboro; maternal grandmother, JoAnne Akarramou of Greensboro; paternal grandfather, Joseph Brown (Sandra) of Fayetteville; as well as a host of uncles, aunt, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
DeVante’s funeral will be held on Friday, May 5, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Locust Grove Baptist Church.
